Shelton businesswoman honored for excellence, volunteerism
Kim DiMatteo, a partner and vice president of the DiMatteo Group in Shelton, along with the DiMatteo Group, has been honored as the Business of the Year by the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Fairfield County (HBRA).
As the recipient, she was recognized for supporting the building industry with outstanding service and quality products.
DiMatteo has shown support for the association through extensive commercial insurance work with HBRA members as well as committee and voluntary involvement. Over the past decade, she has been a life director and now serves as treasurer of the HBRA.
HBRA awards are given to members for excellence in new home construction, land development, remodeling, allied supplies and services, and volunteerism to the organization.
Helping grow the business
Since joining the DiMatteo group after marrying her husband, Kim DiMatteo has helped grow the commercial business by being an active member of HBRA, according to publicity material.
She has been instrumental in offering and overseeing one of the only insurance programs for residential general contractors underwritten by the Hartford Insurance Co.
When not working, DiMatteo volunteers in the community. She and her three children assemble about 100 Easter baskets for homeless children each year, filled with necessities.
Active with family's charity foundation
She also is one of the family members who work on the DiMatteo Group’s nonprofit charitable foundation, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various local and national charities.
