Shelton fitness studio has a new look, name and classes
Studio V Fitness has re-opened with a new look, new name and new classes at the Sports Center of Connecticut complex, 784 River Road (Route 110), Shelton.
Now known as V Fit, the group fitness studio provides what it describes as “balanced, safe, effective workouts in a non-intimidating atmosphere.”
A grand re-opening and ribbon-cutting took place at the new location Oct. 2 with free 30-minute classes, giveaways and special offers. Owner Michelle V. Collings was joined by Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce President Bill Purcell and many guests at the event.
Also scheduled to be at grand re-opening were Crazy Fun Face-painting and Body Art; chair massage with Leighan White-Miller LMT; Artworkz Arts & Crafts; Inspire Fitness; live music by The Wonder Twins; Shelton Fire Department touch-a-truck; refreshments from the Common Bond Market; and Storm, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers mascot.
Zumba, spinning, fitness yoga
V Fit offers a variety of group fitness classes. This includes Zumba, spinning, TRX suspension training, fitness yoga, ugi, piloxing, and rowing.
According to publicity material, the studio “strives to not just teach classes, but to educate clients on how to get the most out of their workout in a safe manner.”
Collings has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years and has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She has her ACE group fitness instructor certification (recognized by the American College of Sports Medicine), Star-2 spinning certification, American Red Cross CPR/AED/first aid certifications, and is YogaFit, TRX suspension training, Zumba, Zumba Kids, Zumba Jr., Zumba Gold and Zumba Toning trained.
Party in Motion
At its new location, V Fit will partner with the Sports Center to offer parties for adults and children. Sign up for a Party In Motion that includes activities such as Zumba, yoga, fitness games, and a dance party.
