Shelton resident Matthew Brisch is the manager of the new Pure Solutions location in Westport.
The company provides organic and safe alternatives to pesticides in the control of ticks and mosquitoes.
“New England is the epicenter of blacklegged tick activity, and the need for tick control is more prevalent than ever,” said Trevor Nelson, Pure Solutions co-founder.
Lyme disease was first identified in Lyme, Conn., in 1975 and has proven to be a growing concern throughout Connecticut.
“Like so many of my friends and neighbors, my family was impacted by Lyme disease,” Brisch said. “The hardships we faced as a family as a result of Lyme drives my passion to help others avoid the same type of experience.”
Brisch previously lived in Monroe.
Organic-compliant products
Pure Solutions uses National Organic Program-compliant products.
“Through a routine program of organic treatments that are safe for humans, animals and the environment, homeowners can achieve results without the harmful side effects of synthetic insecticides,” according to publicity material.
Pure Solutions also is committed to implementing sustainable business practices at its business locations, Nelson said.
“Being a sustainable company is very important to us,” Nelson said. “One way we do this is by sourcing the water we use from harvested, filtered rain-water.”
Pure Solutions now has locations serving Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
