Shelton resident named region’s 2014 CFO of the Year
Pat McCabe of Shelton, who is chief financial officer at Bridgeport Hospital, has been named 2014 CFO of the Year in the large business category by the Fairfield County Business Journal. Winners were determined by a panel of business leaders.
McCabe also is a senior vice president at the hospital and the Yale-New Haven Health System. He joined Bridgeport Hospital as senior vice president of finance and CFO in 2001.
In 2012, McCabe led the hospital through a formal ratings review process with both Moody's and Fitch — and the hospital received ratings in the A category. He has been involved in the growth of clinical programs and major renovations at the hospital.
New expanded responsibilities
More recently, McCabe also has become a senior vice president of the entire Yale-New Haven Health System, responsible for billing, access, and health information management as well as budget, financial planning and reimbursement. He was a member of the team that helped form North East Medical Group and served as its first CFO.
Prior to joining Bridgeport Hospital, McCabe worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital and at Deloitte & Touche. He lives in Shelton with his wife Kerry and has four children and four grandchildren.
The Yale-New Haven Health System covers portions of eastern New York, the state of Connecticut and southwestern Rhode Island.
