U.S. senator to speak at Greater Valley Chamber meeting

U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy will be the keynote speaker at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting on Friday, June 20 from 7:25-9 a.m. at Grassy Hill Lodge, Derby.

This will be the local chamber’s 50th annual meeting. The business organization started in 1964.

The Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce is based on Progress Drive in Shelton and has about 600 members, from large corporations to home-based sole proprietors. This includes companies involved in manufacturing, retail, service and bio-tech.

The chamber serves Shelton, Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Oxford and Seymour. The business group’s motto is, “Advancing the Regional Agenda through Business Leadership.” Chamber president is Bill Purcell.
