Valley United Way Canvassing the Community for Campaign Awareness
Valley United Way Board Members, staff and volunteers will be lacing up their sneakers and pounding the pavement in a Valley-wide street canvas for campaign awareness this Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17. In an effort to build a stronger partnership with small business owners in each of the Valley towns, volunteers will be going door-to- door in downtown areas and populated business communities to speak with business owners about Valley United Way and how they can benefit from a partnership.
“We think this will be a great opportunity for us to meet the small business owners and put Valley United Way into the heart of each community once again,” said Jimmy Tickey, Valley United Way’s Campaign Chair. “We look forward to getting to meet the people who work so hard to make our downtowns vibrant and to see how we can partner together to continue fighting for a stronger community.”
Valley United Way invites the media to join us as we hit the downtown streets Friday beginning at 1p.m. and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Meet Jimmy Tickey, Campaign Chair and Sara Aylward, Director of Resource Development, Friday in downtown Seymour or tag along with Jimmy and members of Valley United Way’s Youth Leadership program Saturday morning on Howe Ave in Shelton.
