Got a mess? Free organizing workshop set in Shelton

Getting organized is a task nearly everyone has on their to-do list. And, for most, it often falls to the bottom of that list every day, as so many other important tasks take precedence. The free “Mess to Success” organizing workshop series will be Tuesday, March 26 and April 23, from 7-8 p.m. at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, 10 Progress Drive. What attendees will learn During the two workshops, Cara Brook will cover a variety of topics for both home and office, including how to: • Manage paper. • Manage time and your calendar. • Maximize your space. • Reduce general clutter. • Use products to enhance your organizing systems. • Donate or dispose of unwanted items. About Cara Brook Brook is a professional organizer, public speaker and mentor for new organizers. Since 2004, her company Strategize.Organize.Simplify (SOS) has worked with clients to tackle piles of paper, create filing systems, better manage their time, and become more productive in their daily lives. Brook’s mission as a professional organizer is to work with individuals who are ready for change in their lives and want to become better organized in the process. Prior to founding SOS, Brook worked in a number of senior project management positions at corporations, small businesses and nonprofit agencies. She received Fairfield County’s “40 Under 40 Award” in 2009. Brook is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), and a past president of its Connecticut chapter. In addition, Brook is a member of the FOCUS Organizers consortium, offering workshops and ask-the-organizer panel discussions on various organizing topics.
