Shelton resident Robert Ullrich has been promoted to director of facility operations for Waveny Care Network of New Canaan. In the position, Ullrich will manage and oversee the mechanical systems, operations and new construction throughout the healthcare organization\u2019s 100,000-square-foot campus. The operation includes Waveny Care Center, The Village at Waveny Care Center, an adult day program, and related on-site services and programs. As Waveny maintenance engineer and licensed electrician during the past five years, Ullrich provided around-the-clock coverage during Hurricane Irene, Superstorm Sandy and other inclement weather events. He chairs Waveny\u2019s Safety Committee and is active on both fire safety and disaster drill task forces. According to Elyse Dent, Waveny Care Network campus administrator, \u201cThe degree of initiative Rob has demonstrated within his department over the past five years, coupled with his breadth of expertise specific to Waveny\u2019s maintenance needs, made him a highly qualified candidate for the position. I know I echo our management team and staff in congratulating him on this well-deserved promotion.\u201d Worked at Wavenly since 2009 Ullrich began working at Waveny in 2009. He has been responsible for coordinating projects such as the replacement of carpeting throughout the facility, the installation of a new kitchen FOG (fats, oils and grease) system, and significant renovations to Waveny Care Center\u2019s resident bathrooms, bedrooms, ceilings and dining areas. He also played a lead role in the advanced wiring and hardware installation for Waveny\u2019s recent transition to a campus-wide wireless network. Making sure projects proceed smoothly \u201cThere are many exciting projects happening now and in the near future at Waveny, which I\u2019m proud to oversee alongside our stellar team,\u201d Ullrich said. \u201cFrom the comprehensive renovations to the Care Center\u2019s special care unit projected to start this summer, to the installation of a 750 kW generator to power our whole campus during inclement weather like Superstorm Sandy, our primary job is to ensure all projects proceed smoothly with minimum inconvenience to those we serve,\u201d he said.
