72 Years of Women’s Suffrage presented by Shelton Historical Society March 15
To honor Women’s History Month in March, Shelton Historical Society will present Votes for Women on Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Plumb Memorial Library.
Administrator at Shelton High School and historian, Carolyn Ivanoff, will shed light on the struggle for Women’s Suffrage during the years 1848-1920. The presentation will be told through period photographs, political cartoons, and editorials, Ms. Ivanoff, will bring stories of 72 years of sacrifice to life, honoring the women who fought so that American women of the future would have the right to participate politically in our nation.
Donations will benefit the Shelton Historical Society. Refreshments will be served. This program is sponsored in part by the Valley Community Foundation.
