A ride for MS
Giovanni Sanzo of Shelton pulls in after riding the 50-mile route as part of the 2012 NBC Connecticut MS Motorcycle Ride, held at the Oakdale Theatre on July 2.
Sanzo, who works for the Bridgeport Fire Department, saddled up in support of his co-worker’s wife, Kate Burlison of Oxford, a physician diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease. Sanzo raised more than $200 to support the cause.
For the first time ever, the ride, which attracted hundreds of bikers, featured two satellite start locations, one at Gengras Harley-Davidson in East Hartford and one at the National MS Society, Connecticut chapter, office in Norwalk.
The main start location was at the Oakdale Theatre. All three rides converged at the Oakdale Theatre, where guests were greeted to a finish-line party featuring local rock band, Vivid, a barbecue by Danny’s Little Taste of Texas, a vendor expo and more.
