Shelton’s Board of Aldermen announced its budget recommendation for the 2018-19 year at its Tuesday night special meeting. It includes an increase of $39,374 for the mayor’s budget and a 0.27% decrease in the mill rate.
The Board of Aldermen voted to pass a $124,132,254 total budget, with a mill rate of 22.15 for the 2018-19 fiscal year.
The mill rate for 2017-18 was 22.21.
“The taxes will essentially remain the same,” said Board of Aldermen President John F. Anglace Jr.
The Board of Ed requested for $74.7 million but will get $72.7 million, which is $1.23 million more than last year.
