Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter offers care courses for those with memory loss
The Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter offers a Caregiver course to the public. This four part program is designed to educate caregivers on the necessary skills and information needed to provide care for persons with memory loss.
Topics include: Overview of Alzheimer’s Disease & Research, Communication Techniques, Identification of Behavioral Challenges, Family Dynamics, Community Resources, and Legal and Financial Issues. *This course is not intended to substitute for professional dementia specific training.*
The Caregiver Course will be facilitated by Maria Tomasetti, South Central Regional Director for the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter and will be held at Griffin Hospital in Derby CT beginning on Sept. 8 and run for four weeks from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no fee for this course and it is open to the public, however registration is required.
