American Legion plans charity walk in Shelton on April 18
A charity walk to benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center will take place Saturday, April 18 at 10 a.m. in Shelton.
The American Legion’s Department of Connecticut Kids Walk will be held on the Riverwalk in Veterans Memorial Park, Canal Street.
It is being organized by both the statewide American Legion and the veterans organization’s Third District, which includes all the posts in Fairfield County.
Participants can walk one to three miles. Walkers will be provided with bottled water and snacks. T shirts will be awarded to walkers with $25 or more in sponsor donations.
American Legion program alumni
Along with the general public, alumni of American Legion programs are encouraged to join in the walk. This includes men and women who have benefited from programs such as Boys State, Girls State, Legion baseball, and Legion-sponsored youth groups.
The walk will present an opportunity for Legion program alumni to catch up with old friends.
All pledges and donations to the Kids Walk will benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
