Plumb Memorial Library’s Children’s Department will be offering several special programs this month.
Storytimes
Bookworms meets Mondays, June 17 and 24.
Alphabits meets Thursdays, June 20 and June 27.
Both Storytimes take place at 10:30 to 11 a.m. and are geared from to children from ages 0 to 5 years old and their caregivers. No registration is required.
Life is Art is an art program for tweens ages 10 years old and older who join Miss Ronda to create a variety of art projects every Thursday at 6 to 7:30 p.m. No registration is required.
Special events with required registration
Summer Movie — Mary Poppins Returns! will be shown on Saturday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All ages are welcome to register.
Bug Out with Cooking — This is a hands-on food program with Miss Maura to make “edible bugs” from fruits and vegetables on Tuesday, June 25, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. . It’s open to children 4 to 13 years old and their caregivers due to knife usage. Caregivers must remain with their children for program duration. Registration is required and begins on Tuesday, June 4.
Toy Story Bingo — This event will be held Saturday, June 29, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The classic game where you look and listen for your favorite Toy Story characters. Prizes will be awarded. All ages are welcome to register. Registration is required on Saturday, June 1.
Special book clubs
Book Buddies Book Chat — Children in kindergarten to grade 2 are welcome to join Mrs. Fritch for a monthly celebration of literature on Monday, June 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This month participants will listen to Amelia And Eleanor Go for A Ride by Pam Muñoz Ryan and enjoy a related discussion and craft. Between the Pages Book Club — Third and fourth grade readers are welcome to join the monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Upon registration, each reader will receive a free copy of this month’s book: Guardians of the Taiga by Stacy Plays. They will discuss the book and engage in activities with snacks.
Novel Ideas Book Club — Fifth and sixth grade readers are welcome to join the monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 26, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Upon registration, each reader will receive a free copy of this month’s book: Firegirl by Tony Abbott. They will discuss the book and engage in activities and have snacks.
