The youngsters went apple picking on a recent morning with Luke and Kathryn’s mom, Jennifer, at Beardsley Cider Mill and Orchard. The orchard on Route 110 offers more than two dozen apple varieties.
Other photos from their excursion to the orchard also are on this webpage.
People can now pick their own apples on weekends. The store, 278 Leavenworth Road, is open daily 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. in the fall.
The Beardsley family has been farming the property in Shelton’s White Hills section since 1849. It originally was a dairy farm. Many dwarf apple trees planted in the 1920s still being harvested today.
