Staff and residents put on their cowboy hats and saddled up their horses for Country Western Day at Crosby Commons assisted living community at Wesley Village in Shelton .

The event featured a chuck wagon-style barbecue dinner, water pistol shooting lessons and country music. Wanted posters were hung around the entire community, announcing a reward for the return of a few “notorious” outlaws, whose intimidating photos strangely resembled those of several Crosby residents.

Sarsaparilla floats were served and cowboy hopefuls were given a chance to take a rope in their hands and lasso a wild pony.

Crosby Commons is an assisted and independent living community at Wesley Village. It is owned and operated by United Methodist Homes, a local faith-based nonprofit organization based in Shelton. For information call Executive Director Lois Poutney at 203-225-5501.
