Center Street Social in Shelton purchases building for its business
The owners of the Center Street Social restaurant and bar in downtown Shelton have purchased the building where the business is located.
On Feb. 25, Barounis Properties LLC bought 127-129 Center St. from DavDan of Shelton LLC for $435,000.
The 127-129 Center St. site is 0.12 acres, with a 4,480-square-foot building, including the basement. The structure was built in 1900, according to city records. The property has an assessed value of $353,360.
Co-owners John Barounis and Derrick Lee opened Center Street Social in the late summer of 2013, describing the new establishment as a gastro-pub.
Barounis and Lee have been restaurateurs for decades, beginning in New York City. In more recent years, they also have operated locations in Connecticut. Barounis owns various food and drinking establishments in New York.
The property seller, DavDan LLC, is a legal entity formed in 2007, with David Orazietti listed as principal.
The limited liability corporation uses a legal address of 441 Howe Ave., which is the building where the former Downtown Danny O’s was located (now Bricks & Barley Tavern).
The LLC name presumably stands for David and Danny Orazietti, who are brothers and who operated Caliente Bar & Grill at 127-129 Center St. before renting the location to the Center Street Social owners.
Danny Orazietti operates Danny O’s Bar and Grille on River Road, and previously ran Downtown Danny O’s with his brother.
