Clothing drive benefits Shelton High sports team

Members of the Shelton High School boys soccer team, above, prepare to load donated clothing and other items onto a truck at  Cube Smart on Bridgeport Avenue.

The SHS Goal Club is paid by the pound for the collected items, which are then recycled, sold to thrift shops, or given to people in poor countries.

Last year’s drive collected 5,800 pounds of used clothes, linens, shoes, pocketbooks, stuffed animals, toys and games. The funds benefit team activities.
