‘Coaches v. Cancer’ basketball event set at Shelton High

The Shelton High School boys and girls basketball teams will host a “Coaches v. Cancer” double-header with Amity High School on Friday, Feb. 6. The girls varsity team will play at 5:30 and the boys varsity team at 7:30.

As part of an effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society, donor cards will be sold at the snack stand for $1. A wall of hope will be created on game day with the cards.

All donor card donations will go to the American Cancer Society for cancer research. There also will be 50/50 raffles, with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

In addition, “Coaches v. Cancer” black T-shirts with hot pink lettering will be sold.

The public is invited to attend the Feb. 6 games to support the Shelton High teams and the fight against cancer. Fans can wear black to the event to show unity in the fight against cancer.
