Community tree lighting,holiday handmade markets
Celebrate Shelton’s holiday festivities will kick-off with a Community Tree Lighting on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30pm at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Downtown Shelton.
“Join us for our Third Annual Community Tree Lighting featuring performances and special appearance by Santa,” said Heriot-Mikula.
Children are encouraged to meet with Santa and take a photo. All are welcome, and this event is free to attend. The Community Tree Lighting is sponsored by Celebrate Shelton, City of Shelton & the Valley Community Foundation.
“Over the next three Saturdays – Dec. 3, Dec. 10, and Dec. 17 – we will be welcoming over 30 handmade artisans for our Downtown Handmade Market. From candles to unique soaps, winter clothing and home goods, we have a wide range of locally made goods. We encourage you to visit our handmade markets at the Conti Building in Downtown Shelton,” said Skrtic.
The Holiday Handmade Markets take place on Dec. 3, Dec. 10, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Conti Building – 415 Howe Ave in Shelton. All are welcome, and the event is free to attend. Featuring live music, children’s activities, and over 30 handmade artisan vendors! The Downtown Handmade Markets are sponsored by Celebrate Shelton.
“When we shop local, we are supporting business owners who are our friends and neighbors, while strengthening our local economy. We invite you to join us for our downtown handmade markets and purchase locally made goods this holiday season,” Tickey added.
Each week, a collection of local artisans, craftsmen and small businesses showcase their wares at Celebrate Shelton’s Downtown Handmade Market.
