Community works to strike out domestic violence
The Annual Bowl-to Benefit to support the BHCare center for domestic violence recently had community groups come together.
St. Lawrence School eighth graders recently took part, collecting more than $1,450 in pledges and donations.
Members of the Huntington Congregational Church raised $550 on their team.
The Annual Bowl-to-Benefit is a major fundraiser for the center. Teams are formed and pledges collected to help “strike out” domestic violence
The center for domestic violence offers services at two office locations in Ansonia and North Haven.
All services are free and confidential. Services are for residents of Shelton, the Valley, greater New Haven and the shoreline communities. A 24-hour crisis hotline is offered, as well as counseling, advocacy, safety planning, emergency sheltering, court-based advocacy, support groups and community education.
