Dancing, pirates and more at the branch library
Here's what's happening this week at the branch:
Toddler Movement Program — Wednesdays, April 9 and 16, 11 a.m. Kids 2 - 4 years get to march, dance and play musical instruments. Songs and action poems included in this weekly program geared to young children who are ready to participate in group activities, and a caregiver.
As I See It — Wednesday, April 9, 1 p.m. Join the Friends of the Shelton Libraries to watch a movie, followed by discussion and dessert; adults only.
Stories with Danielle — Thursdays, April 10 and 17, 11 a.m. Three and four year-olds hear stories.
Spanish with Sandra — Friday, April 11, 2:45 p.m. Immersion Spanish for those 3-5 and their parents in this program using songs, games, story time and other activities. Taught by Sandra Alvarado, a Spanish teacher from Shelton; registration required and space limited.
Pirates! — Saturday, April 12, 1 p.m. From the Barbary pirates of the 1800s to the Somali pirates of today, learn about the privateers and pirates, past and present in this adult-level program by Bob Begin; content is not for kids.
1000 Books Before K — Information and supplies all provided at sign-up. To encourage families to read together, with the help of the Shelton School Readiness Council and Friends of the Shelton Libraries the Plumb Library is offering support for tracking all 1,000 books plus rewards and prizes along the way. Funding from the Valley Community Foundation and the Valley United Way supports this new adventure.
Home Delivery — Shelton residents who cannot get to the library due to temporary or permanent disability are welcome to apply for home delivery of library materials. Contact the branch library, 203- 926-0111). A project underwritten with support from the Friends of the Library and the Valley Community Foundation.
