Demolition work is nearing completion at 900 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton, where a two-story, 9,900-square-foot structure is being knocked down to make way for a Stop & Shop gas station, adjacent to the existing supermarket. (Photos by Brad Durrell)
Crews from Waterbury Wrecking LCC have been taking the building apart in stages, mostly by using different excavators. Much of the debris is being sorted by type of material and trucked off-site, likely to be sold for recycling and scrap.
