Adult Summer Reading Program

Monday, Aug. 3, 9 a.m. Shelton’s ASRP is coming to a close. Read and drop completed short forms in the tubs at either library; next week’s gift card is from Royal Bakery, thanks to the sponsor, the Friends of the Shelton Libraries. Grab some books and submission forms, summer reading rewards aren’t just for kids.

Summer Drive In Movie

Monday, Aug. 3, 6 p.m. Families with kids of all ages enjoy Paddington with free popcorn, bring your own beverages.

Fun for Little Ones

Tuesdays August 4 and 11, 10 a.m. Children ages 1-5 are invited to drop in and join Mrs. Fritsch for stories, songs, activities and a special theme-related craft.


Tuesdays, August 4 and 11, 6 p.m. Adult fiber fans meet to knit, crochet and chat, lots of support and fellowship in this drop in group, stop in and bring a friend.

Teen Time

Tuesday, Aug. 4, 6 p.m. A moment in time for teens/tweens to eat, try out and create. Each week there is something different to uncover.

Super Cowtoonist

Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1:30 p.m. Guest performer Deb Hamuka-Falkenham offers a hands-on cartooning workshop for kids 4-12 and caregivers.

Children draw their own cartoons by following along with the cartoon chalk talk and learn just what it takes to be a cartoonist plus the importance of academic subjects in the making of a cartoon; free tickets available at 1 p.m., seating limited.

Life is Art

Thursday, Aug. 6, 6 p.m. Kids 10 and older explore upcycled materials to create personal art statements. Come see what it is all about when 15 tweens get busy; registration required.

Stay & Play

Friday, Aug. 7, 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers enjoy open play time while parents share tea and conversation.

Teen After Hours

Friday, Aug. 7, 4 p.m. Once the library closes teens indulge in a mashup of TV, crafts, take out, video games, artist, discussion, then wind down with a movie.

Teen Moviethon

Saturday, Aug. 8, noon to 8 p.m teens 13-19. indulge in either a TVthon or Moviethon featuring time travel with snacks and dinner.

Science Sleuths

Monday, Aug. 10, 1:30 p.m. Kids 3-12 unravel the mysteries of science and unleash their inner mad scientist with hands-on experiments; drop in
