Shelton surgeon makes history in new role in medical association

Don Stanziale, Jr., a Shelton resident and owner of Midland Development & Contracting, has proposed developing a four-story structure on property known as the Ascom Hasler site with 129 apartments and 1,745 square feet of retail space. A rendering of the plan is above. The plans are presently before the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Family fun day planned

The Annual Family Fun Day at The Giggling Pig is Sunday, Aug. 30, 10-2 p.m.

There will be crafts and activities, a bounce house, music, food and more.

Proceeds will benefit The Giggling Pig's Family Foundation, which helps brings art to youth.

Vendors are being sought for the event.

The Giggling Pig is at 472 River Road.
