Halloween party for children to benefit Avery Toth
A night dedicated to Avery Toth, a 6 year-old battling Polcystic Kidney Disease, is planned for Friday, Oct. 26. The event will be held at The Giggling Pig, 478 River Road, and organizers say they hope to raise money for the PKD Foundation to help Avery's team "Avery's Allies" find a cure for her disease.
Avery was diagnosed three years ago with this disease, and there is no cure. At some point Avery will need medical treatment or a transplant to save her life.
"If anyone has ever met Avery, you will know how she is always smiling and positive," said Hannah Perry, owner of The Giggling Pig, where Avery is a student. "We care very much about her and want to be apart of raising money for her for years to come. This is going to be the first of many events we will hold for her and so I hope you will come to meet her and be apart of something that will change her life for the better. We know that once you meet Avery, you will love her as much as we do."
The Halloween-themed party will feature pizza, a craft, games and prizes, a costume contest and a Halloween parade of the kids who attend.
The benefit is Friday, Oct. 26, 5-7 p.m. There will be a $10 entry fee per person, with half of the money is going to Avery's cause.
