Halloween road race is Saturday in Shelton

A road race for all ages — including those 70 and older — is set to kick off Saturday, Oct. 25.

Grab your running shoes and Halloween outfits to join the more than 500 runners and walkers who are expected to take part in the annual benefit 5k road race.

Hosted by Wesley Village, the event takes place at its campus, 580 Long Hill Avenue, starting at 9 a.m. It features a 5k run, 1-mile walk and Kids Fun Run.

At the post-race party there will be entertainment, a brunch with egg sandwiches, smoothies, fruit granola bars, bagels and more. Children’s activities include a bounce house, face painting, a clown and the opportunity to trick or treat.

Pre-registration is required.

Race proceeds benefit programs at Wesley Village. The organization will partner with the Long Hill Elementary School to raise funds for its PTA.
