Holy poi! A moving light show at Shelton concert

Xavier Main of Shelton, above, swings tethered lights as part of a poi routine during the Thursday night concert on the Huntington Green in Shelton. Poi  (pronounced "po-ee") is a Hawaiian performance art.

Main runs a company in Shelton that builds music instruments, offers music lessons and does audio engineering.

The concert featured the 15-piece Little Big Band, specializing in swing and Big Band music. It was this summer’s last Music Under the Stars outdoor concert on the Green. The music series is presented by the Shelton Parks and Recreation Department, with the support from private sponsors.

The concert had been rescheduled from Wednesday due to the threat of inclement weather on that night.
