Irish music, stories and jokes come to Center Stage in Shelton

A cabaret celebrating St. Patrick’s Day will take place on two nights at Center Stage Theatre in Shelton.

“Kiss Me, I’m Irish” will feature the band, The Jolly Beggars, and Ireland natives and radio personalities Pat and Joan Kennedy.

It will be an evening filled with Irish music, stories, jokes, and a little touch of the Blarney. It is a bring-your-own-refreshments event offered in a cabaret setting.

About the band

The Jolly Beggars bring the rich tradition of Celtic folk music and storytelling to modern-day audiences. They intersperse their musical arrangements with traditional reels, jigs and folklore.

Band members use guitars, mandolin, tin whistles, octave mandolin, mandola, tenor banjo, double bass, bodhran, spoons, and more during their performances up and down the East Coast.

March 13 and 14 shows

Performances will be at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, at Center Stage, 54 Grove St. (the former Lafayette School complex), Shelton. Tickets are $15 each at 203-225-6079 or .

The Center Stage Theatre was founded in 2005 by artistic directors Gary and Francesca Scarpa.
