Learn about bobcats at local presentation
A program on “Bobcats in Connecticut” will take place Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby.
Christine Clark from Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo will highlight the abilities, adaptations and natural history of the bobcat. Through slides, video and artifacts, guests will learn about the zoo’s newest animal ambassador, BeeZe the Bobcat, and how he helps zoo visitors learn about and appreciate Connecticut’s wild feline.
Bobcats can be seen in Shelton
Bobcats are one of Connecticut’s stealthiest predators, and are often spotted by residents in Shelton’s more rural neighborhoods.
The presentation is presented by the Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society in cooperation with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Light refreshments will be served after the program. A donation of $5 per adult is requested and children under 12 are free.
The Kellogg Environmental Center is at 500 Hawthorne Ave. (just off Route 34), Derby. For details, directions, or to register, call the Kellogg Center at 203-734-2513 or email Dennis Kocyla at firstname.lastname@example.org.
