Stories with Danielle
- Thursdays, Oct. 6 and 13, 11 a.m. Join Danielle as she engages children, ages 3 to 4, with this drop-in storybook session.

Bouncing Babies & Jumping Beans –Tuesday, Oct. 11, 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.  Snuggly wee ones and energetic toddlers (infants to age 3) are invited to join Miss Marissa at one of the two sessions for scarves, maracas, stories, and bubbles!

Creative Juices - Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1 p.m. Need a mental break from your job, time away from your kids (or spouse), or just want to get out of the house? Drop in to our new adult program series featuring activities to relax, amaze, stimulate and entertain. For one hour leave your problems outside and bring an open mind.

Toddler Movement - Wednesday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m. Miss Robin returns with this fun, active 30 minute musical program for children ages 2 1/2 - 4 and caregivers; register now, sessions run for the entire month.

As I See It - Wednesday, Oct.12, 1 p.m. Friends of the Shelton Libraries offer a film viewing and discussion over desserts; new members and opinions welcome.

Holiday Closing – Monday, Oct. 10 both libraries are closed for Columbus Day, they will re-open for regular schedules on Tuesday. The outside book and media bins remain open during library closed hours for return of items. The library website, is available 24/7 for access to personal records, library catalogs, downloadable audio and ebooks plus research databases.

AlphaBits  - Thursdays,  Oct. 6 and 13, 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers and caregivers work on learning skills to make them Kindergarten ready; drop in session, siblings welcome.

Life is Art - Thursdays, Oct. 6 and 13, 6 p.m. Tweens ages 10 and up create a variety of projects with upcycled materials; drop in and express your inner artist!

Stay & Play – Friday, Oct. 7, 10:30 a.m. Kids ages 0-5 and their caregivers share an open play time with library’s age appropriate toys, adults can chat over snacks; drop in and bring a friend.

Library/Homeschool Network – Friday, Oct. 7, 2 p.m. Homeschooling or thinking of homeschool­ing your child(ren)? Meet other families at this open session, children are welcome and light refreshments are served.

Ahoy! It’s Pirate Day - Saturday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m. Kids in K through Grade 3 join us for a pirate story and crafts, then hunt for pirate booty and engage in a sea ship battle; register now.

FOTSL Annual Meeting - Saturday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m. Hear about the Friends accomplishments and their coming plans, celebrate the energy and hard work of the members of the Friends of the Shelton Libraries. New Friends welcome, come and join, bring a friend.

Murder at the Plumb Rehearsals – Saturdays in October, 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 and Tuesdays 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Seeking teens and adults to perform in this fall's play, Minds, Murder and Magic. Fun for Little Ones - Tuesdays, Oct. 11 and 18, 10 a.m. Children ages 1-5 join Mrs. Fritsch for stories, songs, activities and a special theme related craft, siblings always welcome; drop in.

knit! – Tuesdays, Oct. 11 and 18, 6 p.m. Adult fiber fans meet to knit, crochet and chat, lots of support and fellowship in this drop in group, stop in and bring a friend.

First Night - Thursday, Oct. 13, 6 p.m. Friends‘ Fall Book Sale kicks off with preview night, $5 admission per person (children under 12 years free), full prices prevail, great selection including dvds and LPs.

Fall Book Sale - Friday, Oct. 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p. m. full day, full price, great selection, sponsored by the Friends of the Shelton Libraries.

FOTSL Half-Price Sale - Saturday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Half price for everything today, books, media, whatever you see. Proceeds benefit both libraries in Shelton through the support of the Friends of the Shelton Libraries.

Buy a Bag Sale - Sunday, Oct. 16, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. buy a bag, $5 each. All media items are priced to sell, however media items are NOT included in the fill-a-bag prices.

Budding Bookworms – Monday, Oct. 17, 10:30 a.m. Monday story time for Pre-schools kids and caregivers is back! Drop in with Miss Maura for a themed story and craft, then Freezer Dance and Do Re Mi. A great way to begin your week.

Home Delivery – Shelton residents who cannot get to the library due to temporary or permanent disability are welcome to apply for home delivery of library materials.
