Thursdays, Nov. 13 and 20, 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers and caregivers work on learning skills to make them kindergarten ready. Drop in.
Thursday, Nov.13, 7 p.m. author Janet Barrett shares the story of a wily Korean pony that carried ammunition up steep hills to the front lines during the Korean War. Reservations suggested.
Stay & Play
Fridays, Nov. 14 and 21, 10:30 a.m. Open play dates for preschoolers and caregivers. Adults chat while children play; light refreshments provided. For babies and young children; drop in.
Piggie and Gerald Party
Saturday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m. Drop-in with Miss Maura and celebrate author, Mo Willems’ beloved characters Piggie and Gerald. Kids 1-8 years old and their caregivers hear a story, create crafts and play some games.
Mondays, Nov. 17 and 24, 10:30 a.m. A themed drop in story and craft time for kids 1-5 years old and their caregivers.
Fun with Fiction Family Book Club
Monday, Nov.17, 5 p.m. Kids in grades 3-5 and their families discuss Granny Torrelli Makes Soup by Sharon Creech. Refreshments and door prizes. Multiple copies available at the children’s desk. Register.
Fun for Little Ones
Tuesdays, Nov. 18 and 25, 10 a.m. Mrs. Fritsch offers stories, songs and movement for toddlers and pre-schoolers up to age 5 in this engaging and entertaining themed drop in program; siblings welcome.
Tuesdays, Nov. 18 and 25, 2 p.m. Drop-in with Miss Maura for weekly book and book based craft plus a healthy snack. This program for preschool children and their caregivers.
Tuesdays, Nov. 18 and 25, 6 p.m. Adult fiber fans meet to knit, crochet and chat, lots of support and fellowship in this drop in group, stop in and bring a friend.
Wednesday, Nov. 19, 6 p.m. Program for kids in grades 5-8 with crafts, cooking, book discussions.
Saturday, Nov 22, 1 p.m. Teen make Shepherd’s Pie and discuss the serial killer thriller Nearly Gone. While the food bakes, watch The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Drop in.
Library Lego Club
Saturday, Nov 22, 2 p.m. Legos Challenge 3: all ages drop in as children 1-12 create a racing car using Legos. excitement. All creations will be displayed in children’s department until next month.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance will be offered again in the winter, new volunteers are welcome to consider participating in this rewarding program. Local training will be offered at Team in Derby in late fall. Interested individuals should contact Team for more details.
