Library Closings: Both libraries will be closed Monday, Feb.19 for President’s Day Holiday. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Huntington Branch Library
Spanish with Sandra – On Thursday, Feb.15 & 22 at 5 p.m., children their caregivers learn Spanish through songs, games, stories, and other fun activities. Sessions run for an entire month.
Show-and- Tell Stories – On Friday, Feb.16 at 10:30 a.m. & 11 a.m. join Ms. Marissa for stories and songs. Plus, bring along a show-and- tell item. All ages are welcome at the 10:30 a.m. session. The 11 a.m. session is for ages 3 & up only and includes a bonus craft or game before the stories.
Read-Together Club: Rosie Revere, Engineer & Iggy Peck, Architect – On Saturday, Feb.17 at 1:30 p.m., This month, children and their caregivers can borrow copies of two picture books about kids who love engineering and architecture. Read together at home. Then, come to the meeting for an activity that includes both kids and adults. Participants will be entered into a drawing to win a copy of either Rosie Revere’s Big Project Book for Bold Engineers or Iggy Peck’s Big Project Book for Amazing Architects.
Bouncing Babies & Jumping Beans. – On Tuesdays, Feb. 20 & 27 at 10:30 a.m. & 11 a.m., Snuggly wee ones and energetic toddlers (infants to age 2) can join Ms. Marissa for a story, songs, and fun with scarves, maracas, or the parachute- plus bubbles.
Toddler Movement – On Wednesday, Feb.21 & 28 at 11 a.m., Miss Robin provides a fun, active musical program for children and their caregivers. Sessions run for an entire month.
Tina the Tooth Visit. – On Friday, Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m. toddlers - four year olds are invited to meet Tina the Tooth from Commerce Park Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics. Celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month as Tina explains the proper way to clean teeth. Plus, learn the difference between foods that are bad for teeth and those that are good for teeth.

Alphabits – On Thursdays, Feb.15 & 22 at 10:30 a.m., A drop-in storytime geared toward kids and their caregivers. Join Miss Maura for a skill-based story time with a story plus hands-on centers and music fun.
Life is Art – On Thursday, Feb.15 & 22 at 6:30 p.m. join Miss Ronda for fun and different creative projects each week. Learn new techniques and express your inner artist.

Globe Trotters Book Club – On Saturday, Feb.17, A multi-cultural family book club where we explore the world through books geared toward kids 5-9 year old and their caregivers. We will read a book together, engage in a book-related activity, and then you will get a free copy of the book as a gift. Registration is required two weeks prior to the date of book club meeting.
Candy Heart BINGO – On Saturday, Feb.17 at 2 p.m., Join the staff in celebrating Valentine’s Day in the sweetest way with Candy Heart BINGO Instead of calling out “B-13” or “N-43” be prepared to hear “ UR CUTE” or “BE MINE” as this BINGO is played with sayings from a favorite holiday treat. All ages welcome, Registration Required.
Fun for Little Ones – On Tuesdays, Feb.20 & 27 at 10:30 a.m. a drop-in storytime geared toward kids and their caregivers. Join Mrs. Fritsch for stories, songs, activities and a special theme related craft, siblings always welcome.
Talking in Spanish – On Tuesdays, Feb.20 & 27 at 5 p.m., Tweens(10–13 years old) join Ms. Sandra to engage in Spanish conversation and activities. Registration is required.
Knit. – On Tuesdays, Feb.20 & 27 at 6 p.m., adult fiber fans meet to knit, crochet and chat. The group meets in the beautiful and historic Reading Room.

Tai Chi for Adults – On Friday, Feb.23 at 11 a.m. Plumb Memorial Library will be offering a special four-week series of Tai Chi workshops for adults, beginning on Feb. 9. Each class will begin and end with a series of warm up and cool down exercises. There is no prerequisite to participate, no equipment is necessary and participants may do this seated if they feel more comfortable. Free and open to the public. Repeat Reads – On Friday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m., adults re-read (or read for the first time) classic favorites from youth. Come debate the merits and values, share tea and snacks, drop in for a reader’s Happy Hour. This month’s selection is Prisoner of Zenda, by Anthony Hope. Home Delivery – Shelton residents who cannot get to the library due to temporary or permanent disability are welcome to apply for home delivery of library materials.
