After the lighting ceremony, children were able to meet with Santa on the gazebo, near the colorfully decorated Christmas tree.

Many dozens of people — mostly families with young children — were in attendance, and they patiently waited in line to share their Christmas wishes with Saint Nick.

In addition to the appearance by Santa and the lighting of the tree, the event included the singing of Christmas carols, remarks by Mayor Mark Lauretti and ceremony organizer Roger J. Spinelli, and hot cocoa and muffins donated by Auntie’s Cafe in Huntington Center.
