Fun Walk and Fun Run

The 1.5 mile Fun Walk consisted of a leisurely stroll through the campus of Wesley Village, with participants ranging in age from infants in strollers to seniors.

New to this year’s event was a children’s Fun Run, which included 30 children running one quarter of a mile around the pond at Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center.

All children received race shirts, finishing ribbons, and an opportunity to sign their name on the “Winners’ Walk of Fame.” A bounce house, face painting, snow cone machine, and popcorn also enhanced the event for youngsters.

Local businesses were sponsors

Participants had the opportunity to win gift cards from local businesses. The awards ceremony featured egg sandwiches and fruit smoothies.

Wesley Village officials thanked the more than 50 local companies that helped to sponsor the event, with proceeds from the race benefiting Spooner House and programs at Wesley Village. This includes Wesley Village’s Journey of Dreams program, which grants lifelong wishes to seniors at the assisted and independent living community on Long Hill Avenue.
