Noted author to give talk Wednesday at college

Author Okey Ndibe will speak at Housatonic Community College on Wednesday, April 22.

Ndibe’s “Foreign Gods, Inc.” has won critical acclaim. The New York Journal of Books, which termed the Hartford-based Ndibe “a writer’s writer,” described the book as “a lesson in the art of the novel.”

The Hartford Courant described the book as “wonderfully colorful,” adding “there's more than a touch of Poe, or perhaps ‘The Twilight Zone,’ in the surreal conclusion of this story.”

Ndibe also authored a second novel, “Arrows of Rain.”

The talk, which is free and open to the public, begins at 2 p.m. in Room A101 in Lafayette Hall. Housatonic Community College is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Bridgeport, just off Route 8’s Exit 1 and near the Harbor Yard sports complex.

Free parking is available in the Housatonic garage on Lafayette Boulevard.
