Black gave a presentation on the 1950s and 1960s, focusing on music as well as politics, social issues and pop culture, during his Saturday appearance.

Black, who lives in New York state, has performed and recorded with musicians such as Art Garfunkel, Richie Havens and Pete Seeger.

The free event was sponsored by the Friends of the Shelton Libraries, a private, nonprofit organization that supports programs at the Plumb Memorial and Huntington Branch libraries.
