Zoinks the Answer Alien — Thursday, Feb. 5, 9 a.m., kids 1-12 are challenged to answer the questions posed by Zoinks, find him at the desk in the children’s department.
AlphaBits — Thursday, Feb. 5, 10 a.m. Preschoolers and caregivers work on learning skills to make them kindergarten ready; drop in session, siblings welcome.
Take Your Child to the Library Day — Saturday, Feb. 7, 9-4 p.m. Join Connecticut in celebrating libraries. Visit the library for some of the special events.
VITA — Saturdays, Feb. 7 and 14, 9 a.m., and Tuesdays, Feb. 10 and 17, 1 p.m. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance for low income individuals and families with IRS-trained volunteers. Free service provided by area volunteers offered on first come basis, register at children’s department.
Drama at PML — Saturday, Feb. 7, 1 p.m. Teens and tweens explore drama and acting with Plumb’s Mr. Adam and local author/director Amanda Marrone. First session will focus on sketches.
Teen Saturday — Saturday, Feb. 7, 1:30 p.m. Teens 13-18 meet for an activity and book discussion then watch a film they select. Snacks served. Drop in.
Library Minecraft Club — Saturday, Feb. 7, 2 p.m. Kids 4-12 share ideas and tips in this free monthly program which offers a craft, game and educational element, but no online gaming; register.
Budding Bookworms — Monday, Feb. 9, 10:30 a.m. A themed drop in story and craft time for kids 1-5 years old and their caregivers.
Fun with Fiction Family Book Club — Monday, Feb. 9, 5 p.m. Kids in grades 3-5 and their families discuss Babe and Me by Dan Gutman. Activities, refreshments and door prizes. Multiple copies available at the children’s desk; registration required.
SW CAPA — Monday, Feb. 9, 6:30 p.m. South west chapter of CT Authors and Publishers Association, offers speakers and support; new members welcome.
Fun for Little Ones — Tuesdays, Feb. 10 and, 10 a.m. Children ages 1-5 are invited to join Mrs. Fritsch for stories, songs, activities and a special theme related craft, siblings welcome.
Book Buzz — Tuesdays, Feb. 10 and 17, 1:30 p.m. Drop-in with Miss Maura for weekly book and book based craft plus a healthy snack. This program for preschool children and their caregivers welcomes audience participation.
knit! — Tuesdays, Feb. 10 and 17, 6 p.m. Adult fiber fans meet to knit, crochet and chat, lots of support and fellowship in this drop in group, stop in and bring a friend.
Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead — Wednesdays, Feb. 11 and 18, 1:30 p.m. Science, technology, engineering and math plus art provide focus for preschool kids in a weekly hands-on activity with Ms. Maura. Drop in.
Home Delivery — Shelton residents who cannot get to the library due to temporary or permanent disability are welcome to apply for home delivery of library materials.
