Police search for owner of thin, scared dog found in Shelton

A thin, scared dog was found on Booth Hill Road on March 3, and the public is being asked to provide information on it.

A Shelton police officer was sent to a residential address on a report of a found dog around 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The homeowner reported that she was driving on Booth Hill Road when she saw a dog come out of the woods and walk through traffic.

Reports said the dog appeared scared and thin, and was dragging a metal chain. The female put the dog in her vehicle and drove to her residence.

The officer transported the dog to a veterinary emergency center for examination. The dog is currently being cared for at the Shelton Animal Shelter.
