Preparing for the snowstorm (UPDATE)

As we prepare for the snowstorm that is scheduled to hit the Southwest portion of the state Saturday into Sunday morning, we’re also asking that you share with us your videos and pictures to be featured online as well as in our next issue of the paper. Whether it’s a snowball fight, bundling up by a fire, or shoveling out your driveway we want to see! Send all content to or tweet us @SheltonHerald.

You can never be too prepared. Anytime we get warning of a storm it’s never a bad idea to grab those extra groceries in case stores are shut down as a result of the inclement weather. Stocking up on candles, batteries, water, first aid kits, and extra blankets. If you must be out on the roads in the midst of this storm bring extra layers or blankets as a precaution.

According to the latest forecast, Shelton is predicted to get anywhere from 1-3 inches of snow as a result of this snowstorm scheduled to hit the state Saturday night, Jan. 23. They are also calling for the occasional gusts of wind over 50 miles per hour and temperatures dropping to a low of 21 degrees on Saturday.
