‘Presents 4 Pets’ annual supply drive

Homeless animals in our local animal shelters will soon have more daily living supplies, thanks to the annual Presents 4 Pets collection campaign, held in support of National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, Nov. 3-8. Across the country, professional pet sitters are sponsoring local collection campaigns. In coordination with the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS), NAPPS member Gwen Gangi of Fur to Feathers Pet Sitting Service, LLC is hosting the Northern Fairfield County campaign. The goal is to help our local animal shelters and animal rescue groups by providing desperately needed pet care items that keep their animals comfortable and safe, and help keep their facilities operational.

The campaign will run from Labor Day weekend until the first week of November, when donated items will be delivered to the shelters. Fur to Feathers is reaching out to it's clients and to the community encouraging them to donate various pet care items.

Items such as pet food, treats, bleach, towels, bedding and off-floor beds, collars/leashes/choke chains – especially for large dogs, cat litter, rugs, toys, blankets, and monetary donations are all being sought.

Members of the public can get involved by collecting and donating pet care items during the campaign. “This is a great opportunity for everyone to help support our local animal shelters” commented Gangi. “Every collected item will be delivered directly to our local shelters in Monroe, Easton, Trumbull and Newtown.” Besides donating the much needed supplies, this campaign will raise awareness of our community animal shelters and the very important role they serve and invaluable service they provide. “This is a great opportunity for all animal lovers, pet owner or not, to get involved and make a difference” said Cindy Socha of H3 Pet Supply. H3 used to have a store in Shelton, but is now located in Stratford.

During the campaign, donation boxes will be placed in local businesses to collect the donations. “We would also like to invite local businesses, condo associations, vets, etc., to get involved by hosting a donation box.” commented Gangi. “If someone is interested in donating or hosting a box, just give us a call at 203-610-2444,” she stated. Look for green boxes with the NAPPS Presents 4 Pets logo on them, or call for drop off locations.
