Professional wrestler to host Atlantic League All-Star Game in Bridgeport

Professional wrestling legend Ric Flair will be the guest host of the 2015 Atlantic League All-Star Game, planned for July 8 in Bridgeport.

The game will take place at Harbor Yard Ballpark, the home of the Bridgeport Bluefish. The Bluefish compete in the Atlantic League.

Flair is one of the most recognized professional wrestlers in the world, having competed for more than 40 years and winning 16 world championship titles.

He is a two-time WWE Hall of Fame inductee, first in 2008 for his individual accomplishments as a wrestler, and again in 2012 as a member of the Four Horsemen.

"Ric Flair is going to bring so much energy to the mid-summer classic," Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole said. "We are so excited to have a personality like him join us for this special event."

Will throw out first pitch at game

The wrestler, also known as “The Nature Boy,” will throw out the first pitch at the All-Star Game, and participate in a special VIP Meet and Greet.

In addition, Flair will be the special guest speaker at the All-Star Luncheon, which will take place at Housatonic Community College on the same day from noon-1:30 p.m. The luncheon will feature a Tastes of the Atlantic League menu, with each team being represented by a regional dish.
