Resident finds a career at Shelton company
A Shelton success story is being highlighted during Disability Employment Awareness Month in October.
Vitec Videocom found an outstanding new employee when they hired Jeff Prushko of Shelton.
The company specializes in broadcast, movie and pro-video products. Vitec Video employs more than 100 people at its North American headquarters in Shelton.
“I have big plans for Jeff,” said Sally Sachse, the company’s sales support manager. “He is great worker, a high performer and very bright ... He is truly an asset to our company.”
'Everyone was very welcoming'
Jeff Prushko likes working at Vitec Video. “The staff is great,” he said. “Everyone was very welcoming, open-minded and willing to help.”
Prushko began working at the company as an intern in inside sales promotion in 2013, with assistance from Kennedy Employment Services, a division of the nonprofit Kennedy Center. He now is an inside sales coordinator, with responsibilities that include checking stock availability and back orders, assisting the sales staff, and dealing with customers.
One of the most exciting parts of his job is selling products to rental houses and networks such as CNN, ABC and NBC.
