Valley Shakespeare Festival, the Lower Naugatuck Valley’s only non-profit free Shakespeare theater company, will open its third season on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14,  at 2 p.m. at Derby Neck Library (307 Hawthorne Ave.) with a scripted reading of Romeo and Juliet.

Shakespeare’s tragic tale of young love has been adapted by the VSF. The play will feature seven actors, minimal staging, with a script-in-hand reading and will last about 90 minutes.

The performance free, with a suggested donation of $10.
