Santa's neighborhood tour through the White Hills nears

White Hills Voluntary Fire Company is getting ready for the neighborhood’s community tree-lighting ceremony and Santa’s annual tour of the White Hills.

Friends and neighbors in the White Hills are invited to the firehouse, 2 School St., for the tree-lighting on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. The public can join members of the fire company for a cup of hot chocolate after the ceremony.

Toys will be accepted that night for the Toys 4 Kids drive. Each year through the generosity of Shelton residents, the fire company provides truckloads of new, unwrapped toys for families in need through programs such as TEAM Inc.’s Toys 4 Kids.

Santa will tour the neighborhood

On the following weekend, Santa will be escorted on a fire truck through the White Hills on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Santa and his helpers will pass out popcorn balls to children during the tour through the neighborhood. The trip will begin in Upper White Hills and end in Lower White Hills.

Members of the White Hills Fire Company will follow Santa’s engine with pickup trucks as part of the fire company’s Toys 4 Kids drive. New, unwrapped toys will be collected by firefighters for distribution by TEAM Inc.

In the event of bad weather, go to for rescheduled dates.
