Saturday in Shelton: Bottle and can drive to support Eagle Scout project

Boy Scout Troop 25 will be supporting Life Scout Mark Sullivan’s upcoming Eagle Scout project by donating the funds from its monthly can and bottle drive.

The project which will include building an information kiosk at the head of Paugassutt Trail in Shelton on Buddington Road, will help support the Shelton Trails Commission in their ongoing effort to keep the city’s hiking system safe and clean.

The can and bottle drive will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2 at the First United Methodist Church, corner of Long Hill Avenue and Rocky Rest Road.

Any redeemable plastic, metal or glass cans or bottles will be accepted as well as any small donations that can be provided. The total cost of the project will come to $350.
