Saturday picnic in the Valley to benefit veterans home
A party to benefit the Homes for the Brave Program, the Pfc. Nicholas A. Madaras Home, helping women in transition back into the community, is set for Saturday, July 27.
There will be a hot dogs and burgers lunch with a raw clam bar, and then at 5 p.m. a southern barbecue dinner with brisket, pulled pork, and smoked turkey with country white gravy by Grumpy Hogg BBQ.
Also, there will be line dancing lessons with live country music by Harms Way of E.K. Entertainment and a raffle.
Held at the Catholic War Veterans (CWV) Post 1562, 112 Derby Ave., Derby. Party starts at noon on the grounds. Tickets, available at the post, are $20; with kids 10 and younger free. Call 203-734-9748 for information.
