See Bee Gees tribute show to ring in the new year at Downtown Cabaret
Area residents can move to the sounds of the Bee Gees on New Year’s Eve during a tribute show and party at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport.
The evening will begin at 8:30 p.m. with a performance of “Night Fever: Bee Gees,” the live musical tribute, followed by the after-show bash to ring in the new year. There will be dancing to music of the 1970s and other favorites with DJ Jimmy Cabaret, plus a balloon drop at midnight.
The event also includes free party favors, coffee, danish, ice and soda. As is traditional at the Downtown Cabaret, guests can bring their own food and other drinks, including alcoholic beverages. Parking also is free.
‘Stayin’ Alive’ to ‘To Love Somebody’
“Night Fever: Bee Gees” played to capacity houses at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre earlier in December. The musical tribute highlights one of the most iconic ‘70s bands to ever hit the stage.
“Night Fever” is the largest fully staged production of the Bee Gees in the world, according to publicity material. The all-Canadian cast has been touring worldwide for 10 years, re-creating the look and sound of the Bee Gees.
The tribute show includes such songs as “To Love Somebody,” “Jive Talking,” “More Than A Woman,” “Night Fever,” “You Should Be Dancing,” “Stayin’ Alive” and many more.
Appearing as the Bee Gees are Joe Varga as Robin Gibb, John Acosta as Barry Gibb, and Carm Castiglione as Maurice Gibb.
Tickets to the New Year’s Eve show and party are $79 per person. Purchase them at www.downtowncabaret.org or 203-576-1636.
The Downtown Cabaret is at 263 Golden Hill St. in downtown Bridgeport. It is a wheelchair-accessible venue (inform the box office of any special needs when ordering tickets).
