Shelton Boys & Girls Club opens preschool program for 2014-15 school year

The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley is now offering a preschool program at its Raymond P. Lavietes Clubhouse in Shelton.

The program will offer members opportunities to learn each day, with the chance to develop fine and gross motor skills, participate in dramatic play and arts, be constructively engaged with other children and adult staff, and develop math, literacy, and critical thinking skills, including letters and numbers.

The program is open to all 3- to 5-year-olds who are not enrolled in school. Children may attend full or half days; the program will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nutritious snacks and lunch will be provided daily.

Cost is $300 per month for half-day membership (up to five hours per month); additional hours are available when needed for $20 per day. Cost for full-day memberships is $550 per month (up to 11 hours per day).

Parents must register in person at the clubhouse at 1 Positive Place, Shelton. Registration will be closed from Aug. 23-Sept. 3.
