Shelton Cub Scouts holds a soap box derby
Shelton’s Cub Scout Pack 28 met at the Huntington Congregational Church for a soap box derby race. More than 21 Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos cubs plus den leaders and their family members attended the event.
The Cub Scouts raced across the parking lot two cars at a time. The vehicles were all made of wood by the pack and are propelled by an elevated ramp. The Wolves Cub Den was the winner of the race.
Family fun, the winning trophy
“The church was so nice to allow us to once again use their property for the location of the event,” said Melissa Stevens, den leader “The Wolves cubs were excited that they won and will each get a chance to take the winning trophy home for a month over the next year.
"Best of all, the purpose of the race is to promote good family fun and I think we accomplished that," Stevens said.
The pack meets monthly at Mohegan School on Friday nights. For anyone interested in joining, call 203-929-1076 or email Paul.Uhrynowski@morganstanley.com.
